Welcome to the Natural Family Planning (NFP) site of Catholic Social Services serving the Diocese of Charlotte, NC! Our goal is to help Catholic spouses deepen conjugal love and practice responsible parenthood.
Couples who practice NFP appreciate that children are not a burden but are to be joyfully received as the greatest gift of family life. However, accepting the Church's teachings on married sexuality does not mean that a couple must have as many children as they possibly can. Couples are encouraged to take into consideration physical, economic, psychological, and social conditions affecting the family and recognize that there are sometimes serious reasons to avoid a pregnancy.
Modern methods of NFP are based on sound science.Research studies have found NFP to be 97%- 99% effective when used correctly. You can learn NFP by taking a class offered by one of our NFP teachers. For those couples who do not have a local NFP teacher, our program offers a home study course. You receive all necessary materials and our professional review of your charts until you are confident in your NFP skills.
